UP Diliman DPO winner of NPC’s Privacy Management Program Award on Education Sector

UP Diliman Data Protection Office (DPO) transpired as the winner of the Privacy Management Program Award of 2022 Education Sector, organized by the National Privacy Commission (NPC).

The winners were announced during the 5th Annual Privacy Awareness Week (PAW) with the theme, “Ang PAWer ng Data Privacy Mo: Praktikal, Angkop, at Wastong Paggamit ng Datos ni Juan at Juana,” at the Philippine International Convention Center held last May 26, 2022.

“Nurture a culture of respect for privacy,” is the vision of the UP Diliman DPO set in their Privacy Management Program Framework.

Adopting to the needs of the UP Community, the DPO continues to build privacy resilience and address the privacy gaps with the help of its Privacy Focal Persons in each academic unit and administrative office.

During her sharing, Atty. Regine Estillore-Gonda, UP Diliman Data Protection Officer said that “through our policies, programs, and processes, we aim to maintain the critical consciousness or awareness on privacy for everyone, whether student, staff, or faculty.”
