The University of the Philippines Diliman issued Office of the Chancellor Memorandum No. MLT 19-072, the Data Privacy Security Incident Management Policy that aims to efficiently and effectively handle privacy-related incidents. Part of the policy is the establishment of Unit-level
Breach Response Teams (BRTs) to assess and evaluate security incident and breaches.
On 16 July 2020, the University of the Philippines Diliman Data Protection Office issued a letter to academic units and administrative offices for the establishment of their respective Unit-level BRTs, which is composed of the following:
- Privacy Focal Person;
- Officer with authority to decide on relevant administrative matters; and
- Data Processor or information security person with knowledge how the unit processes its personal data
In this regard, we would like to invite your unit’s BRT to the first Unit-level breach response training entitled: How to handle Personal Data Breaches, on 13 December 2021.
